Born
in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico.
Graduated from the University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA Communication
Major).
Ricardo has been acclaimed and praised because of the quality of his work, despite any limitations, and against all odds.
Working in television and producing TV shows and commercials since 1998 was the groundwork for what was to be his future in filmmaking.
In August,
2003 Ricardo started
pre-production on the feature film El Escape De Los Santos
in which Ricardo served as executive producer, director, cinematographer,
editor, writer and sound designer.
The independent film was finished in 2005 and was selected to screen at
the 2005 Hollywood DV Festival.
In 2006, El Escape De Los
Santos
was picked up by Venevision International and was released nationwide through
Pay-per-view and DVD.
On
July 1, 2006
Ricardo started production on
ASH WEDNESDAY: CAPITULO UNUS.
The film is a very ambitious story of epic proportions.
The style and fast-paced storytelling sets the filmmaker apart by serving as the
executive producer, director, cinematographer, editor, writer and sound
designer.
In December 2006 the film
was finished and is now awaiting its fate.
TIMELINE
In 1998 Ricardo initiated his own TV show called "TTV", and consequently the "Anti-Show", in which he produced, edited and hosted for more than 3 years and still going.
In 2000, he acted as a Production
Assistant at the television station KMOL (NBC affiliate, now known as WOAI) in
San Antonio, TX.
In 2001 he returned to Eagle Pass and created numerous commercials, logos
and station ID's for channel 20, TVAW in Eagle Pass, TX.
In 2002 he went back to San Antonio as a Video Production Technician for
the City of San Antonio's government channel 21.
The main show called "The
HALL" in which Ricardo collaborates with editing, animation, photography and
presentation has garnered 6 awards, of which 2 are national recognitions.
In August, 2003 Ricardo started pre-production on
El Escape De Los Santos, which, in 2006 has been released
nationwide through Pay-per-view and DVD.
On June 1, 2006 Ricardo started production on ASH WEDNESDAY: CAPITULO UNUS, which is now awaiting a 2007 release.
